Ali Mumin Ahad is a Somali writer, academic and intellectual. Ahad completed his undergraduate degree in economics at Somali National University, where he also served as a lecturer in international economics. He earned a master’s degree in agribusiness from Sacred Heart University in Milan, Italy, and was awarded his doctorate by La Trobe University in Australia. Ahad has published numerous articles and two books on Somali history, literature, and historiographical writing. He is the author of the book Somali Oral Poetry and the Failed She-Camel Nation State.
